2005

Welcome

The Las Vegas Celtic Society, its Board of Directors, Board of Trustees and its legion of volunteers, welcome you to the Las Vegas Celtic Gathering and Highland Games for 2005.

As this is our inaugural event and it is the City of Las Vegas’s 100 birthday, we chose the beautiful Floyd Lamb State Park as our venue. Floyd Lamb State Park (or Tule Springs, as it was previously named) was chosen for it’s outstanding beauty and it’s historic connections to the City of Las Vegas. We hope you find this Park as pleasing as we do.

Every effort has been made to deliver a superior event. Many “long hours and lonely nights” went into this effort. This end result has shown that it was all worth while. We sincerely hope that we have met your expectations for a Las Vegas Games. And we hope that you will honor us by returning for future Games.

Enjoy the Games!

Schedule of Events

As we reach the final days of preparation for the 2005 Las Vegas Games, everyone involved sincerely hopes you will join us for this celebration of heritage and family! Many Thanks

The Las Vegas Celtic Society would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one who participated in the 2005 Las Vegas Celtic Gathering & Highland Games. We consider it an honor that you joined us in making our vision become a reality.

This was our first event and there have been a few rough spots along the way, but we did our ancestors proud. We celebrated families, honored the rich traditions of athletics, dance, pipes and drums, and had fun. You bet we are going to do it again next year, bigger and better. We invite all of you to be a part of the future of the Las Vegas Games.

Thank you to our sponsors for their wonderful generosity. Your support and interest made this event possible, and we could not have done it without you!

Thank you to our vendors who braved the elements to provide great food, services, and unique wonderful products.

Thank you to the Clans & Societies who came from far and wide, and proudly wore their tartans. We invite you to make the Las Vegas Games part of your tradition.

Thank you to the awesome Pipe Bands! Thank you for the pride, the precision, and the effort that went into each and every performance. What an honor to have the LA Scots join us in this celebration.

Thank you to the athletes whose strength, skills, and competitive spirit keep alive the tradition for future generations.

Thank you to the Las Vegas Highland Dance Association for their commitment to teaching and passing on the art and traditions to our children. Many thanks to each and every dancer for their hard work and dedication!

Thank you to the Park Service and everyone involved in providing the outstanding venue for this event!

Thank you to the legions of volunteers who worked so hard, we thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Thank you to all who attended and brought their celtic spirit. We sincerely hope you had a wonderful time, and that each and every one of you left the Games with a Scottish tune in your head and some joy in your heart!
